What People Say
MRS. ADENUGA
What I learnt as a leader during the training is how to carry people along. I used to leave people behind when they didn’t cooperate due to impatience. Also, after the training I had the privilege of training other colleagues of mine after my training and had two of them return to thank me for being encouraged and impacted. Going forward the gap of leadership between the older civil servants and younger ones need to be bridged and the experiences impacted on the younger ones for when the older ones get out of public service.
MRS. GINA
I left the training very happy, I learnt about mentoring, how to treat subordinates, empathy towards people and seeing people outside the box. I had a meeting on empathy with my subordinates and I encouraged them. I am more willing to listen to them, and I thanked my MD and DTC/ACBF for the opportunity to attend. I suggest we have a forum for blogging and sharing online real life experiences as regards to our work and difficulties experienced for support.
MRS. FUNMI
I did learn a lot, were i work in the Paramilitary it is all about respect. I work with men and most times we are not given the opportunity to express ourselves. I didn’t use to apply etiquette but this has helped me in my family and towards my children. I encourage us as women to help ourselves more both in the offices and everywhere we find ourselves. I also learnt to carry people along and listen to them.
MRS. BOLA OYEYEMI
Thank you DTC/ACBF for the opportunity. It was my first time attending any leadership training after been in service for 34years. I am blessed to work with young people with little knowledge and I have had to train them, the training has better helped me. Mentoring the young in the public service is key, we also do not need to be threatened or scared of them but be willing to learn from them too and training them in so doing we better equip ourselves. I have learnt to continue to push to be better and not give up, and I am determined to do better.
MRS. LARABA BELLO
I was proud and happy to be part of the training, after which I tried to find out my lapses and how to better improve as a leader already. I had been a victim in the office, after the training I reorganised my team and younger subordinates. I am grateful for the opportunity. We as women have issues and problems which need to be addressed.
MRS. JAMILA
I learnt a lot and I am grateful. The training helped me in addressing my children in school to become better. I have also applied knowledge gained to my home, and among my colleagues and superiors. I have a better relationship now in the use of leadership and empathy. I encourage everyone around me to become better.
MRS. MUNIRATU
I learnt how to be more tolerant, patient and understanding. After the training I was given a unit in my office to handle due to my training.
MRS. MIRIAM
I was given my courses to head and teach, and put in a team of senior professors and I am the youngest, due to the leadership training. I am able to work without fear, and I have a sense of leadership which I enforce through discipline. I have more job description at work because of how well I have managed responsibilities given to me.
MRS. WINIFRED
I learnt a lot in the aspect of time management.my daily targets and goals are better achieved now. My colleagues and Deputy Director have all attested to it.
MRS. DUSANA SOLOMON
I have learnt a lot that I use for my family and work. The group chat created for interactions have also been very encouraging. As women we must be willing to strive to become better. Time management training also impacted me and my daily targets. I learnt how to lead by example and knowing that been a woman and not a man is not a disadvantage to becoming more knowledgeable and equipping myself for my career. I shared the knowledge gained with my colleagues and superiors. I am most grateful for the opportunity.
